Photo exhibition "Zagreb likes green"

A photo exhibition organized by the Zagreb Tourist Board and the International Zagreb Airport, “Zagreb likes green” by a group of authors, famous Croatian photographers, was officially opened today in the baggage claim area at the Franjo Tuđman Airport.

The selected 26 photographs show Zagreb's green oases and its natural beauties through the artistic experience of eight authors: Boška & Krešo, Julien Duval, Marija Gašparović, Sanjin Kaštelan, Šime Lugarov, Davor Rostuhar, Josip Škof and Marko Vrdoljak. The opening ceremony was attended by Jelena Pavičić Vukičević, Acting Mayor of the City of Zagreb, Ivo Bašić, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Croatia, Filip Beusan, curator, and hosts of the exhibition Hüseyin Bahadir Bedir, President and CEO of International Zagreb Airport Jsc., and Martina Bienenfeld, director of Zagreb Tourist Board.

"I am very pleased that we marked the beginning of the 2021 summer timetable with the opening of this interesting exhibition that promotes the natural beauties of Zagreb and its surroundings. I would like to thank the Zagreb Tourist Board for continuing our cooperation on such projects, in which we strive to enrich travel experience and welcome our passengers when landing in Zagreb. I believe that we still have many great projects ahead of us that we will jointly promote all the values ​​of the Zagreb and Croatian tourist offer. Ultimately, our efforts will certainly be recognized by our customers, who recently, despite the current demanding circumstances, for the third time in a row declared us the best airport in Europe withing the group of airports of 2 to 5 million passengers a year," said Hüseyin Bahadir Bedir at the very beginning of the ceremony.

"This is the second exhibition we are organizing in the arrival terminal of Zagreb Airport, and I am especially glad that we realized it, despite the challenging times we are in and thus, symbolically, marked the beginning of the summer timetable. With the exhibition "Zagreb likes green", Zagreb Tourist Board continues with the campaign launched with the aim of promoting our city as a responsible, sustainable and safe destination. Also, through the exhibition we additionally implement the message of the ministry’s campaign Safe stay in Croatia - Safe stay in Zagreb because we promote staying outdoors, in greenery and nature with a focus on health and raise awareness of our city as a desirable environment and tourist destination. Namely, Zagreb is 75.1% green - green areas cover most of the city, it has 10 million square meters of landscaped lawns and flower beds, 200 kilometers of maintained tree lines and 130 thousand different trees. The selected 26 photos show only a part of Zagreb's natural wealth, and they all confirm that Zagreb really lives and loves green," said the director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, Martina Bienenfeld.

In addition to the exhibition itself, the area is additionally decorated with a model of the Mali Zagreb (Little Zagreb) project. This is a new art project of a series of miniature installations that bear resemblance to the facades of residential buildings and the shop windows of Zagreb's old and familiar craft shops.
